Mellow Smudge

Smudge is a bit, shall we say, skittish. Whenever you get close to her, especially if you have a hand over her head, she takes off. Sometimes she'll check to see if you have food first, and then snub you if you don't. Once Richard surprised her in the kitchen and she took off over the tile. It was like one of those cartoons where the character is moving his legs really fast but not going anywhere. And also with rabbit breakfast shooting out across the floor in all directions.

For some reason, though, one afternoon this weekend, she decided it was OK for us to pet her. I guess she was in a mellow mood, hanging out with Buttons upstairs.



But you still have to be careful apparently. As Richard said, it's so easy to offend a rabbit.



Buttons update: Buttons is doing much better. He hops nearly straight now. He looks a little bit like a druggie in these pics because he's getting eye medicine, which mats the fur around his eyes.
