Dalton's Words

Dalton is now 15 months old and he says about a dozen "words."

They are, in rough order of appearance (is there a hearing analogue to that word?):

dada (means daddy and also any person. he says it all the time. he also says it very loudly to get richard's attention.)
mama (can say just fine, but almost never does)
ball
bubble (also says it all the time. uses it to get us to take him outside, since we won't do bubbles in the house.)
nana (banana, but also all food and drink and medicine)
ma (mas, or more)
ou (out, usually said emphatically)
uh-oh
papa (associated with one book in particular, usually whispered)
shoes (started out as "eesh" but now sounds pretty close to shoes)
bar (cereal bar)
da dou (thank you. it is SO CUTE when he signs please by rubbing his tummy, and then says "da dou" when you give him what he was asking for)
juh (yogurt, sounds like the first syllable in spanish, argentine pronunciation)

PS. We lost (got stolen?) one of our cameras in Shenandoah last month. I am SO upset-way more than about the camera itself- about the pictures of Dalton that were on the camera that we lost!! :( But I will do a blog post with pictures from our recent vacation to KY some day soon.
